Latine Graduation Ceremony: Anais Holgado Lage delivers keynote address

On Sunday, May 24, the Carl A. Field Center sponsored the Latine Graduation Ceremony to honor the heritage, culture, and achievements of its Latin, Hispanic, and Latine graduates. As the Center says: “The Latinx Celebration was first initiated by students in 1990 who desired the opportunity to celebrate their accomplishments and recognize the important role that Latinx students have played in shaping the landscape of Princeton. What started as a small gathering in the Faculty Room of Nassau Hall has expanded in size and scale over the years and now takes place in Richardson Auditorium. The ceremony provides an opportunity for family and loved ones to recognize the accomplishments of the graduates while embracing their new, important roles as Princeton alumni.”

It was a beautiful ceremony, and it included a keynote speech delivered by SPO Senior Lecturer Anais Holgado Lage, who was chosen based on the votes of the graduating seniors. Other attendees at the event included Paloma Moscardó and Amina Shabani, and several students who have taken courses in the department were honored at the graduation.
