On September 17, 2025, the students in SPA207 performed several short plays in the Whitman Theatre and the Rocky/Mathey Theatre, with the instructors Anais Holgado Lage and Amina Shabani, and peers as public. The plays, created entirely by the students after a critical analysis of Sergio Vodanovic's El Delantal Blanco in class, highlighted the dynamics of power and social class in our current society, often including elements of humor and satire. The plays focused on uneven relationships like a popular student vs. the new one, a celebrity and his fans or the owner of the restaurant mistreating one of his employees. The final results showed an abundance of creativity, resources, talent and language abilities, that everybody in the audience truly enjoyed. Next week in SPA207, every student will choose one of the plays and write an essay about it.
